Here We Go... Again!

It's October 2011 and it's been awhile (to say the least) since my last blog post.  A lot has changed since I last sat down to write here; the main change is that I'm now living on the fantabulous West Coast (again)!!  Albany, NY sucked rather hard :op

Being much happier to be back near my home turf has caused lots of good changes in my life.  It makes a huge difference to be able to see my family and old friends pretty much whenever I want.  I finally feel like really changing me for the better.  There are so many incredible things to do outdoors here in the Pacific Northwest and I want to be able to get out there and do them!  It's a bit hard to go hiking for a few hours when being obese makes you huff and puff after a few minutes of walking normally, never mind hiking up rugged trails.  One day I want to kayak in the Puget Sound; I've seen people out there on the water and I long to be able to do it too.

So, after noticing this major mental change (my family has noticed it as well), I knew it was really time to get down to business and get healthy so I can do those things I want to do.

I have joined a gym that happens to be steps from the place that I live, and I've started a 90-day program that incorporates healthy eating, working out, and a support system.  My goal during this 90 days is to post as often as possible on my daily food intake (with pictures) and updates on my fitness accomplishments, and of course, weight loss updates.

To begin, I'll be honest - I'm starting this 90 days weighing 293 lbs, with about 48% body fat.  Let's see where I end up on this journey!
