Alright, so the wedding ceremony and all of the celebrating that went along with it (celebrating = food) really did me in. I gained a whole 6 pounds in about a month! It had taken me about that long to get those 6 pounds off. At least I know I can do it this time.
First of all, I should say that I joined Weight Watchers in July 2007 after realizing I was on the road to very early death. I weighed in at 305 pounds - I'm 5'5". It is now almost a year later and after the weight loss and gain again, I'm only down 20 pounds. I tend to make excuses about why the weight isn't coming off - such as: I was stressed about the wedding, we can't afford the expensive healthy food, etc. But really, I suppose that's all a bunch of crap. I must say though, that Weight Watchers is definitely your best bet for weight loss because you learn to eat the foods you already eat the proper way (portion control). I tried Jenny Craig once for about a year and the weight loss results were about the same for me, except I spent $200.00 per week on their food and the extra groceries they require you to buy. For one person that is a little ridiculous. Not to mention, when you finish losing the weight, you aren't going to continue eating their food, so you are prone to gain again because you have free range on "real" food. Also, keep in mind, there is a hefty membership fee. With Weight Watchers I pay about $40 per month for my unlimited meetings membership. I really recommend going to the meetings. You get so many tips from people, the leaders have all lost weight and maintained their weight loss so they know what they're talking about. Also, with my membership, I get Weight Watchers Online tools - which are great to keep track of your weight, your daily points, and to find lots of new recipes.
Wow, this has become a commercial!
Anyways, I go to meetings every Monday - it's my therapy! I hope to post once a week on my progress. For now I will leave you with pictures of my 6 month difference in weight (from July 2007 to January 2008)
